It turned out to be harder than expected, but after a year and a half Lege Fles (which consists of Marjolein Busstra and Rebekka van Hartskamp) succeeded in talking to 13 Moroccan mothers about raising their sons in the Netherlands. Last week they had their final interview, and therefor they would like to proudly invite you to the exhibition opening in the Melkweg Galerie. The opening will take place on Friday the 24th of october at 18:00.
The exhibition consists of portraits of Moroccan boys who shield their faces to protect their anonymity and on the other hand video interviews with Moroccan mothers publicly telling their story.
The exhibition will be opened by historic Martijn Kleppe, who conducts research into iconic press photos and the (new) selection procedure followed by editors across different types of media.
It promises to be a very exciting night. See you there!
