Creative agency XXS Amsterdam approached us to produce new TVC's for NPO directed by Chantal Spieard.
In this photography and film project we see and hear Poppy and her dreams and thoughts about life and love. The main story is a love letter she wrote to an ex boyfriend, where she talks about longing to be the perfect woman for him. With ‘bigger boobs and longer legs’, and at the same time she writes him that she is having doubts about marriage as the only and ultimate expression of her love life. Photographs of promising model buildings and parks are alternated with real parks and views from yet to be inhabited apartments.
A mixture of living and dreaming. The younger generation is not always willing to get married without having found real love first. They are willing the risk of living the life of a faded pearl. Find more of 'Wild Poppy' right here.
Niels Hoebers (1981) is animator. For DWDD he made a beautiful ode to Number 14: Johan Cruijff. Hoebers graduated in 2010 Cum Laude at the Design Academy Eindhoven with stop-motion film 'Walter'. The photographer Erik Chmil is famous for his photos of vehicles in atmospheric locations. In his latest series, “Solitude,” he plays with the curious fact that his usual model is not on view, through photographs taken in abandoned carparks. Chmil traveled the world in search of emotive parking lots and photographed them at the precise moment when no car was actually parked there, often a feat of patience. The result is much more than simply shots of empty parking spaces under different lighting conditions; these fascinating snapshots show silence, loneliness, and longing, bearing witness to the secret histories of these spaces. Featuring contemplative and arresting photographic works of art, this volume also takes viewers on a fascinating photographic journey to spectacular places throughout the world. You can order a copy for only €43,95 excluding shipping costs. Send us an email to order!
Make it a great 2018!

Our last but not not the least new talent is Joshua Morin. This filming world-explorer was lucky enough to travel our world when he was younger. Each destination inspired him in new ways and all he wanted to do was capture these magical, fleeting moments. This led him down the road of film-making. It was not long before he started filming professionally. After receiving a few staff picks on Vimeo, doors to many more exciting opportunities started to open, such as filming for Sean Penn’s NGO, National Geographic and currently the Matador Network. Since then, his career has snowballed into an exciting mix of projects, filming for many agencies and tourism boards around the world. We are honored to welcome you to our team!
Another Storytraveler with a passion for film making. It all started with his love for extreme sports (skateboarding, snowboarding etc)/ His friends spend hours perfecting the latest tricks and he always wanted to be able to capture them. So one day, in 2005, he decided to go out and buy a camera - that's where it all began. These days, he works on all sorts of projects from travel and sport videos to commercials. He is lucky enough to work with some phenomenal brands, including Volkswagen, Burton, Redbull and BBC to name a few. When he is not filming, he spends time with his family, goes on as much surf trips as possible and loves to mountain bike.
Caspar is part of the very talented collective Storytravelers. We will let him introduce himself: "You know, it’s crazy what can change in 6 years. I used to be a unit director of a sales company in the Netherlands, but after a few years I felt stuck with an ever-growing urge to pursue different goals in life. I wanted a lifestyle that was aligned with my passions and talents – I wanted to live my own legend! So I started travelling again, jumped into new projects, where the path eventually led me to southern Italy. Here, I began following my passion of showcasing journeys, people and destinations in their true, natural and authentic form, through the art of film. It was not long before this venture sparked the creation of STORYTRAVELERS. To me, my work is way more than just taking photos, filming videos, travelling the world and social media. It’s all of these moulded together with artistic expression, unlimited creativity, a passion for real connections, authentic experiences and the ability to share a unique vision with the world".
We are sure Ingmar will make a great impression coming holidays. She knows how to prepare great food and how make it look delicious on camera as well. Ingmar began her career as a photographer. Later as a culinary student at the Cordon Bleu School in Johannesburg South Africa, she started experimenting with food and photography. After training with several food stylists, she made a career switch to food styling. Recipe development, a self-taught skill, came later. Ingmar’s creativity and improvisational skills, give a feel of refreshing nonchalance to her work. “ If you’re a food stylist – you always create ways to hold the impossible together with toothpicks, rubber bands and sticky tape.” Her appreciation of client needs and extensive knowledge and love of good food, make her easy to work with. Ingmar works on assignments for magazines, adverts and food packaging, commercials and feature films.
Ingmar has worked on a large array of food assigment covering various areas of expertise- drinks, coffee, working with ice cream, pastries and baking- for both moving and still images. Her aim is to create food that is looks truly delicious and visually appealing; with a degree of honesty that creates a natural believable image quality.
Niels Hoebers is a one of a kind artist. As a re-animator of inanimatable objects, Niels Hoebers tells stories, visualizes concepts and romanticizes processes.

Introducing photographer and director Adrian T. Kubica. Adrian was born in Detroit, Michigan and now calls Germany his home. Adrian enjoys the raw reality of everyday life, the fleeting beauty of those in-between moments and takes every shot keeping that in mind. He wants his viewers to relate to his photographs through recognition, familiarity, emotions and the energy so much, that they wonder if they are looking at a picture of someone they know.
Chantal Spieard's great work for the Female Cancer Foundation has been published in the quarterly newsletter of Triodos Bank. We have quite a few new talents in our midst! First off, we would like to introduce Brandon Li. Being the son of a Chinese scientist and an American novelist, he was bound to be a little different. Some of his commercial clients have also included BMW, Nike, Etihad Airways, and Airtickets. com. Believe us, you don't want to miss this piece of art Brandon Li made called "Hong Kong Strong". At first, they look like monoliths of ancient or futuristic cultures. They look like constructions that transcend time and even space. Set out in the open, where almost no other signs of civilisations are to be seen, the structures of abandoned bunkers from World War II remain.

National Geographic has published an article written by Christina Nunez, which contains a series of photographs featuring “7 Cool Ways Cities Are Thinking Ahead on Climate Change”. One of these stunning images is the one we are presenting to you today. The picture shows the ingenious way the Dutch city has come up with to fight climate change, through floating neighbourhoods. This solar-powered pavilion embodies a first step towards a similar but larger clean-energy powered area, and is used as an exhibition space to feature Rotterdam’s ambitious climate change plans for the future. The UNFCCC Climate Photo of this week was taken by Jonathan Andrew in Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

The opening of the Rijksrestaurant was for the editors of Volkskrant Magazine a good reason to stylize the dishes prepared by chef cook Joris Bijdendijk in a typical setting for the Rijksmuseum. Rein Janssen photographed these dishes in the tradition of 17th-century still lifes and the styling has been taken very good care of by Judith Rasenberg. You can have a look at the published article right here.

83 Days of Darkness on show in Budapest 17 June 2012
Every winter between 11 November and 2 February the sun fails to rise above the flanks of the Alps, leaving the North Italian village of Viganella completely in shadow. Situated in a narrow valley at the end of an 80-kilometer road it is subject to an exodus of its population. Only the center of the village is inhabited, merely by elderly people.
Residents of Viganella and the neighboring villages who face the same problem blame the lack of sunlight in winter. The mayor raised funds for a large computer-operated mirror, to be built 500 meters up the slope high above the village. For seven hours a day it reflects the sunlight to the central square of the village.
It is also found useful to defrost icy roads. And as a gift it illuminated the house of a lady celebrating her 90th birthday.
In the mountain regions old laws have always reigned relations between man and nature. Working the hardest rocks or climbing the highest heights.
