About Jouk Oosterhof

My approach when making photographs is considered and precise. I carefully build the image, staging all details, sculpting the face and posture into the most fitting shape and position. Creating flattering and genuine portraits. In the end subject and space have an equal importance within the frame.

During the twentyfive years of working as a photographer, I often return to André, my former neighbour and muse, inspired by his particular kind of beauty. He is a real gentleman and a wonderful model, he trusts me and will always stay himself.

I love the sober atmosphere in his house. It sparks my interest in lived-in and dated interiors. From this interest arose my search on funda for locations. Always houses, soon to be demolished with unexpected views. This gives me a fresh look on things, make my fantasy flow.
